The Cakebread wine dinner menu includes: Sauvignon Blanc 2013 served with pan-seared jumbo sea scallops, red quinoa, Maitake mushrooms and pomegranate gastrique; lamb meatballs with homemade fettuccine, feta, sundried tomatoes, mint and pistachio, pesto Alfredo with Pinot Noir 2013; Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 served with Lombo De Vaca À Porto, which is a grilled four-ounce filet mignon, with espresso and port wine sauce, fingerling potatoes and asparagus; and finally, for dessert, a ruby-port poached pear, ruby port-sauce, candied walnuts, crème fraiche, and mint served with Merlot 2011.

Man charged in Centreville stabbing death


CENTREVILLE, Va. (WUSA9) -- A 22-year-old man has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of Mario Cedillo-Santiago, say Fairfax County Police.

Twenty-nine-year-old Mario Cedillo-Santiago was stabbed at a home located in the 14000 block of Cool Oak Lane in Centreville on Saturday. Police arrived at approximately 4 p.m. to find him suffering from a stab wound. He was unresponsive when he was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead around 9 p.m.

Police had reported that roommates heard Cedillo-Santiago and a person having an argument. The suspect fled the scene before Cedillo-Santiago was found, police said.

On Tuesday, Fairfax County police announced that they had arrested and charged Daniel Jacinto Marco Cedillo with the murder of Cedillo-Santiago. He was caught in Baltimore, Md. on Tuesday morning, say police, and is awaiting extradition back to Fairfax County.

Colder weather has set in and that means people are turning up their thermostats and seeing higher utility bills.  The City of Manassas’ Operation Round Up is in full force, where customers that authorize the City of Manassas to "round up" their monthly electric bill to the next higher dollar. If the bill is $73.80, it is rounded up to $74 and the extra 20 cents is contributed to the Operation Round Up® fund.  Single donations from customers are also accepted, simply by adding the additional dollars to their payment with a notice that the overpayment is for Operation Round Up. METROPOLITAN SCHOOL of the ARTS’ STUDENTS AWARDED for ALL-STAR CAST

Ben Cherington and Kylie Levy of Metropolitan School of the Arts (MSA) Performing Arts Academy of Lorton, Va. and Alexandria, Va. were recently recognized for All-Star Cast by the Virginia Theatre Association Conference for their performances in I Never Saw Another Butterfly. This was the first time Metropolitan School of the Arts had participated in the conference. Cherington, an 11th grader from Burke, Va., and Levy, a 10th grader from Fairfax, Va. are students at Metropolitan School of the Arts. For more information, go to www.metropolitanarts.org.

City of Manassas Public Works and Utilities welcomes Monica Boehringer of Fredericksburg, Va. as their new refuse and recycling coordinator. Boehringer is responsible for managing the City’s refuse and recycling contract and collections, facilitating community outreach and education for recycling, waste reduction and stormwater, and managing programs, such as Adopt-A-Street, Adopt-A-Stream, Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off Days and the Citizen’s Advisory Committee on Solid Waste. MISSING: Woman, 73, Centreville, Va.


CENTREVILLE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Sully Police Department is searching for a missing 73-year-old woman from the Centreville, Va. area, who was last seen Monday around noon, authorities said.

Blanca Sone, 73, left her home on Woodfield Drive around noon and has not been seen since, police said.

She is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs around 100 pounds, authorities said. She has reddish brown, shoulder-length hair. Sone speaks English and Spanish.

She was last seen wearing a black sweater and blue jeans, authorities said.
