Salon Daniel of McLean, Va. is seeking donations to send 270 holiday care packages now through Dec. 31 to 270 orphans at the St. Clou Orphanage in Haiti. Each care package is $7. The salon has already raised approximately $1000 and is sending their first shipment of 50 plus care packages. They have a goal of raising more than $1500 to ship all the packages.  For more information about Salon Daniel, call 703.893.5000.

So many Haitian children are going without many basic necessities this year. We wanted to remember them during this holiday season. We appreciate our team and clients helping us achieve our goal, said Daniel Bechara, owner, Salon Daniel, (www.salondaniel.com):

Home 4 the Holidays: Fairfax County Animal Shelter Event

Home 4 the Holidays: Fairfax County Animal Shelter Event

The Fairfax County Animal Shelter is offering free spaying and neutering for the first 100 cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies adopted during the month of December. This special offer is part of the Home 4 the Holidays adoption celebration to get homeless animals into loving new homes in time for the holidays!

I went in today and spent some time looking at the available animals that are hoping to get adopted during this holiday season. Hearing them bark and cry was pretty upsetting and I wish that I could adopt them all, but I am not even allowed 1 pet in my apartment. However, you can help! You can search online for pets available for adoption. Just go to www.petharbor.com, type in the zip code 22030 or your own zip code and click on Adopt a Pet. Check the box for Fairfax County Animal Services and “Use this Shelter List” and begin your search for whatever animal you are interested in adopting!
