The truth about the Salahis and Michaele's MS: You decide!

I recently had the opportunity to talk to the Salahis, the couple that most of our country knows as the "White House Crashers.”  During the rare but intimate interview, we siphoned through the rumors surrounding the media frenzy; from being the 3rd most hated housewife to the allegations of fraud and bankruptcy.   Michaele also shared details surrounding her 17+ year battle with the relapsing-remitting form of Multiple Sclerosis (RRMS), which about 80% of people suffer from during the initial phase of Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

Michaele described the onset of her MS starting when she noticed numbness and tingling in her feet while swimming and subsequent attacks including temporary visual changes and fatigue.   The couple also spoke about the affect of the disease on their marriage and the emotional support Tareq Salahi gives to his give wife on a daily basis including how difficult it was to keep the disease a secret while filming Real Housewives of D.C.  when Michaele would have a flare-up.    Michaele also described herself as the “denial patient,” which is typical with most MS patients who suffer with this disease; partly because patients may go into remission for a year or more, experiencing mild changes with symptoms or even remain symptom free.  So in the future, if you hear the model-like blond slurring her speech, or suddenly trip and Tareq fly across the room for “the rescue”, know that it may not be that glass of Oasis wine or those stiletto heels, but a neurological disorder called Multiple Sclerosis.
